Volleyball. 10 volleyball courts are located at the southern end of Zuma Beach near parking lot 1. They are available for public use. Volleyball courts, picnic areas, restrooms, and concession stands can be found at various spots along the beach. If you don’t want to pay to enter the parking lots, there are spots along the southbound lanes of PCH. The southern part of Zuma County Beach is called Westward Beach and it is easiest to access from Westward Beach Road on Point Dume.
The Pepperdine Beach Volleyball team gained three new practice courts near Drescher campus to practice on for the 2020-2021 season, as pictured Feb. 13. The team used to volley on the Zuma Beach courts, but due to COVID-19 regulations, they had to adapt and build new facilities on campus.
1. Court Use. Courts are open to the public. Play is on a first-come, first serve basis. When no other courts are available, only one court may be held with a ten minute time limit for all players to arrive. Putting down a ball or equipment of any kind is not permitted to hold a court. At least one person must be present to hold a court.
Special Comments: Surfers, body boarders and body surfers come to Zuma beach searching for the perfect tube ride. It's a wide sandy beach with lots of volleyball courts. Beautiful! Zuma beach is a long wide sandy beach ideal for surfing conditions.
The beach is 1.8 miles long and has actual parking right up to the beach. The beach includes food stands, restrooms, restaurants, showers, and volleyball courts. Zuma Beach makes a wonderful place to park the van and spend the day surfing, paddle boarding, or just lounging around watching the scenery.

Zuma has shown up in countless films and on a parade of top destination lists. Sunset magazine named Zuma one of its Top Ten Beach Strolls in its October 2007 issue. From May to October, Zuma Beach draws tens of thousands of visitors. And with good reason: easy access, plenty of parking, snack bars, volleyball courts and great surfing.
